Biography
Robert is a California based scenic designer, working both regionally and in many of San Francisco’s most respected AEA venues. He was awarded the 2007 Bay Area Critic’s Circle Award in scenic design and designed scenery for the 2007 Los Angeles Drama Critic’s Circle Award winner for best revival. His designs have been seen on the stages of regional theaters such as San Jose Rep, Center Repertory and The Nevada Conservatory. Upcoming projects include "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at San Jose Rep and the west coast premier of "A Seagull in the Hamptons" for Shotgun Theater.
His career has taken him to Los Angels as an art director for film, Las Vegas as a corporate entertainment designer, and across the United States as a scenic artist and stagehand. Robert has acted as an assistant designer for several productions with legendary designers Douglas W. Schmidt and John Iacovelli, on projects as various as broadway bound works, prominent regional theater projects, national tours and televison. He is a member of United Scenic Artists local 829, the United States Institute of Theater Technology, and Theatre Bay Area.
